Bare Trees and Bird Nests

In February the weather still lends itself to inside reflections, good books, old movies, a dose of Reality TV [Project Runway, Launch My Line, The Bachelor, and yes American Idol] and lots of web surfing. While we're still bundling up in cozy scarves and layers, it doesn't mean that we can't fast forward to thoughts of warmer days as we filter in some soft ballerina pinks, beigey pinks, ivory, alabaster, beige and grays.

[At The Brownstone I have some wonderful crinkled scarves in ivory and natural as well as some ombre charcoal mufflers and amazingly soft woven yarn beige and ivory scarves.]

I love a cozy tunic with leggings and gray or black are the perfect background that we all love. Some of the casual clothing that I am most attached to in winter are grey. There's something very comforting about the color and the more textures the better. Sweats, camis, thermal tops in light gray, a sweat shirt in charcoal as well as a gray cashmere sweater, long and short sleeve cotton tees and tops and charcoal yoga pants, a great knit tunic and a gray knit sweater dress. Wearing gray is relaxing...cacooning at its best. It's also the only phsychologically neutral color.

I am also loving all of the drapey designs in tops, tunics and dresses and hope that they are with us for awhile. [At the Brownstone I have some gray drape front dresses that are sleeveless, but perfect for layering right now.]
